UPDATE!!!! Free: GGP Malls: $10 Gift Card

Thanks to two other wonderful bloggers who left comments, I am happy to report that you CAN get a GGP $10 gift card no strings attached. Simply go to the sites below and sign up. The $10 gift card you get with a $75 purchase, you don't need a form for. You simply go to the event tables as I stated previously.

How sweet is this?!

Check the list here to see if you live close to one of the GGP Malls that are participating in the Shop Smart Event during Sept. 17-19. If so you might want to sign up for a voucher that you can redeem for a $10 Mall gift card. (For Park City Mall of Lancaster, Pa go here.)

During this Shop Smart Event, you can also submit receipts showing $75 worth of GGP Mall purchases dated Sept. 17-19 in order to get another $10 gift card. There are going to be Shop Smart program tables located in the malls during this event and that is where you will redeem your receipts for your additional $10 gift card.

We happen to have a number of gift cards right now for stores in our mall and hubby needs some jeans rather desperately. So I am thinking we might be able to make the $75 deal work without actually spending much out of pocket. However, remember, it is never smart to do a deal just because it seems like a good deal. If you don't need the items or in this case, if you don't have$75 to spend, it is not a good deal!

Thanks "Cents"able Momma!

Just a Head's Up

I just wanted to give you a head's up that I may not be able to post much over the next several days. My in-laws (they have 7 kids still at home) are moving back to the States tomorrow after living in Romania for 10 years. We have been busy trying to get their house ready, buy food and necessities, organize work crews to help fix up their house etc. It's been busy and I think it will only be busier the next several days as we try to help them settle and adjust.

If you would, pray for them when you read this. They have a long road of adjusting ahead.

Thanks for your understanding...and I will try to post as often and as much as I can!

Stockpiling and My New Resolve

Please, don't gasp in horror, but this is how(most of) my cupboards looked!

I am a stockpiler. I can't deny it if I want to because all you would need to do is look in my cupboards. I hate running out of something. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe because it is inconvenient, because I was deprived as a child (just kidding!), or maybe it gives me a sense of security. I don't know. At any rate, I have this list of staples (not really a list, just one in my head) that I always keep on hand. Well, at least try to. My list includes things like saltines, sour cream, beans, rice, jello, ketchup, mustard, mayo, BBQ sauce, shredded cheese, chocolate chips, cream cheese and much more.

Well, that might not sound so unusual, but see, I like to always have at least one extra of all these items on hand. For instance, I like to always have at least one extra bottle of ketchup and mustard in my cupboard at all times, even if I just opened a new one. Also one of my grocery buying rules is if I can get an item for 50% less than its normal price and it is something on "the list" I buy it.

Now typically this is not a problem but lately there have been so many good deals and my cupboards were just pretty much as full as they could get. My husband, who is totally not a stockpiler, has learned to just grin and bear this silliness of mine. But recently when he noticed how full our cupboards were, he began to make his little remarks hinting to me that this was getting bad.
So I decided to try something this month and next. I decided to try to not buy anything more than we absolutely need unless it is 50% or more off the normal price. I started this probably about a week into August and so far it looks like I should be able to have roughly $40 left over in our monthly grocery budget.

I am really excited about that because due to all the canning and freezing I have been doing we are over our grocery budget right now. This is typical and I generally catch up within 3 months but I am hoping to do better than that this year. Maybe!

I plan to update occasionally about how it is going, what I am doing to help eliminate my stockpile and what I am learning from this. So stay posted!

Can You Help?

Are any of you having trouble using the link on my post here to sign up for Pinecone Research? If so I would really like to know. Someone reported that it did not work for them however I can use it no problem.

Free or Cheap Carmex

Use this $1/1 coupon to get free or very cheap Carmex lip balm. If your Kmart is doing Super Doubles you should be able to get a good deal there or Walmart reportedly has them for $0.97 and CVS for $1.35.

I've never tried Carmex before, however when I used to work at a pharmacy, we had lots of customers that talked about how great it is. Maybe now is my chance to try it!

Thanks More than Cents!

Clark Color Labs: Cheap or Free Photos

Are you new to both Clark Color Labs and Cashbaq? If so, you can get an amazing deal on photos.

1. First create an account at Clark Color Labs and you'll receive 40 free photos (doesn't include shipping).

2. Sign up for Cashbaq and you'll get $5 deposited to your account when you do.

3. Go to Cashbaq and once you are on their website use the Shop by Store option (top left corner) and find Clark Color Labs. Select that and once directed to the Clark website, log into your account.

4. After you have logged into Clark Color Labs through the Cashbaq link, you can order your 40 prints as well as another 100. When you check out, use coupon code CPRINTSBOGO and your first 40 prints will be free. And then your next 100 should only cost $0.04 each!

5. Plus, you will get $5 deposited to your Cashbaq account for placing your first order with Clark Color Labs. This is on top of the $5 you earned for creating a Cashbaq account.

So, all told you should be able to get 140 photos for $4 plus shipping. And you'll also get $10 deposited into your Cashbaq account...which is the amount you need to be able to cash out, so you can do that right away too.

Essentially, the money you earn through Cashbaq should cover or very nearly cover the cost of both the 100 photos and the shipping. Not bad!

I wish I could do this but I already am a member of Cashbaq. I considered doing it anyway since it would still be a pretty sweet deal but I don't even have that many photos to develop right now. So, alas, I guess I'll just have to pass.

Thanks Money Saving Mom!

Thrifty and Chic Mom is doing a giveaway for a $25 gift card to either TJMaxx or Marshalls. We have a Marshalls 10 minutes from here and I am sure I would have no problem spending that gift card fast!

PineCone Research

Do you enjoy giving your opinion about things? Then you would probably enjoy PineCone Research. PineCone is one of the best survey companies that there is and one that is hard to become a part of in that they only accept new members several times a year and you have to be referred to be able to join.

I have been a member of PineCone for a couple of years now and love it. You get paid $3 for every survey that you do and can get paid via Paypal or by check. You get paid immediately, every time you do a survey unlike most companies who have a maximum amount that you must earn before you can cash out.

I receive surveys approximately twice a month and they almost always take less than 10 minutes. Getting paid $3 for 10 minutes is like getting paid $18 an hour- not bad in my estimation. And sometimes the company that is sponsering the survey will send you a product to test. So not only do you get paid to do the survey, you also receive a free item.

Sign up here to join PineCone, I don't think you'll be disappointed. And no, I don't get paid anything to tell you about this!

Walgreens: 20 Free Prints

Wow, Walgreens has sure been having the photo deals lately! Use the coupon code 20FREE4ME at Walgreens.com to get 20 4x6 prints free. If you choose to pick up your order at a Walgreens store, you will pay no shipping either. I'm not sure when this offer expires.

Kmart Super Doubles Purchases

Kmart is doing Super Doubles again this week in our area. For some reason, I often wait to shop during Super Doubles until the end of the week and then have trouble finding many of the items because they are already cleaned out by other bargain hunters. This time I decided to go Monday so that I had a better chance of getting more items.

I can't do as well as some of you since we don't have a Super Kmart close and our prices are quite a bit higher than most other areas from what I have seen posted. However, I was happy with what I was able to get. I managed to snag all of this for only $3.95! Regularly it would be $42.15.

I usually only buy things during Super Doubles if I can get them for free. However this time, I did actually pay for some items that I needed since I was able to get them for a good price and they are things that I can rarely get for free. I paid $1 for the dish soap, $0.50 each for the dressing, $0.49 for the Bounty towels, and $0.61 for the Shout.

Thankfully, the Kmarts around here never stick to the $25 minimum purchase or the 10 coupon limit so I can shop there easily and make out quite well.

Want to try your hand at getting a steal at Kmart this week during their Super Doubles? Check out these posts of cheap or free items from Common Sense with Money and Hip 2 Save. Keep in mind prices vary per region.

Tasty Tuesday: Zucchini Crust Pizza

Well, I've been noticing that a lot of people are saying they have gobs of zucchini that they need to get used up so I thought I would post my new favorite way to use zucchini. I got the basic recipe is from Home Joys blog and if you want a more fresh veggie version you might want to check out the original recipe.

We loved this pizza and it heats up wonderfully. The oregano and basil give it great flavor and the Parmesan cheese adds just a little bit of extra taste to it. This is definitely going to be one of my most used zucchini recipes from now on!

Oh and by the way, if you need somewhere to go with all that extra zucchini? I'd be more than happy to be the recipient (being that we have no garden)!

Picture courtesy of Home Joys blog.

Zucchini Crust Pizza
Crust:

3 cup shredded zucchini
3 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt

Mix together well then spread on 12 inch greased pizza pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Toppings:

Tomato sauce

1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
3 T Parmesan cheese

Any other pizza toppings (peppers, mushrooms, onions, cooked hamburger/sausage, ham)

2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Spread tomato sauce on crust and top with pizza toppings and cheese. Return to oven and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

Schwan's Free Food Still Available

I had posted here about how Schwan's is giving away $10 of free food to the first 500,000 new customers (anyone who has not ordered from them in the last 14 weeks qualifies).

Today Schwan's contacted me and asked me to tell my readers that they still have plenty of food available. So if you have not ordered from Schwan's in the last 14 weeks take advantage of this offer! We love their icecream (you can get a gallon free) and they have lots of other great foods too for under $10. Plus, it gets delivered to your door. What more could you want?

If you are worried about the Schwan's delivery man coming back and trying to get you to order often, just politely tell him when he comes to deliver your free food that if you want to order again you'll contact them.

Freecycle

Have you ever heard of Freecycle? If not I highly recommend you check it out.

I first heard of Freecycle from my husband's aunt and uncle who live in England. They mentioned in an email that they got some furniture from Freecycle. Being the curious person that I am, I googled it and was amazed at what I discovered.

Here is a brief definition of Freecycle from their website:
It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.

That pretty much sums it up. If you go to Freecycle you can search for a Freecycle group near you and then sign up. You'll then be able to access the list of items people are giving away and requesting. And the neat thing is, when an item is listed, the location is listed too so you can decide if it is worth your time and gas to pick it up. It is free to sign up, the only thing that they ask is that you give as well as receive. Makes perfect sense, I think.

We have gotten several items from Freecycle including 2 single beds, a very nice adjustable card table, and an exersaucer baby toy. And I have had fun giving away a number of items as well.

I honestly wish more people freecycled. Freecycling is so easy and allows others to be able to enjoy the things you no longer need. Every time I go walking here in the city on trash day I am appalled at what all people throw away. Perfectly good stuff is sitting by the curb waiting for the garbage truck. It is pathetic...and almost makes a "dumpster diver" out of me. Well, not quite. But it does really bother me.

Free Chocolate Friday

Don't forget to sign up for your free chocolate today. Remember you can get four coupons per household.

Giveaway Roundup

Well, I am a day late with my Giveaway Roundup post. Sorry if you were watching for it. After having such a crazy day on Wednesday, I decided to have a pretty laid back day yesterday and so this is one of the things that got axed. But, a day late isn't too bad is it? Unfortunately, there aren't just a lot of giveaways this week...most of the giveaways I saw were for smaller items.

Do you need a cordless phone? We could definitely use another one! Thrifty and Chic Mom has a give away this week for a great looking VTech cordless phone.

Bargain Briana is doing a Back to School giveaway for a $500 Walmart gift card. Wow! Now that would definitely last us quite a long time.

Slave to Save is the one doing an Amazon gift card give away this week. Stop by and enter for a chance to win a gift card for $25.

Freebie: Juicer
